Michael Phelps won 8 gold medals in the Bejing Olympics in the summer of 2008 to beat Mark Spitz's record of most gold medals won in a single Olympic. He wouldn't have won if it was not for his relay team, in the final 100 meters Ryan Lochte came back from a full body length to win the relay. Even more exciting was in the 100 meter Butterfly Michael Phelps beat out his opponent by a split second to win his 8th gold medal. When Phelps won that the news was all over the world and ESPN was
covering that topic for days!

Just as great as Michael Phelps, but perhaps overshadowed by Phelps 8 medals was Usain Bolt, a runner from Jamaica that was as fast as his name sounded, in the 200 meter dash Bolt blew everyone away and broke the world record time jogging in the final 10 meters. At the rate he was going at, he would probably be able to fly out of the Birds Nest(the olympic stadium) and back to Jamaica.

By: Austin W. and Maiyah P.

This is my blog and it is based on movies. The main movie Im talking about is the series of Madea movies. This movie is very funny and everyone enjoys it. This movie was directed by Tyler Perry who also made House of Payne. The parts that really stood out were when Madea got active on the people that got in her way. Well it seems i cant tell any more of this or ill spoil it for the people who havent seen it yet.

Ask Fred (Fred being Natalie B, of course.)

1.) A lot of my friends like coffee and I think it tastes sort of gross. I hear there are drinks that have coffee in them that don't all bitter and weird. What do you suggest?

2.) I have a friend in my group of friends that is really cool sometimes, and other times, she's in a really bad mood. How do I deal with her mood swings?

1. I had the same problem when I drank coffee for the first time. I would highly recommend a mocha latte, from Starbucks. Another type of coffee that I would recommend is a frappucino. Even if you don't like mocha lattes or frappucinos that much you should still try to find the right coffee for you. Personally, the two coffee places that I think are the best and go to the most are Starbucks and Peet's coffee. Hopefully my suggestions will help you like coffee more and good luck trying all the different kinds!

2. Try not to take your friend's mood swings to personal. Whenever you see your friend starting to get annoyed or mad try to give him/her there own space. To make sure that your friend's mood doesn't get to you go with other people that are in a good mood. You could also try talking to your friend and asking them why they're in such a bad mood. I would also just be as calm and cool as possible when I'm around them. Good luck with your friend and remember to

Harry Potter Movie Review by Monique Calfe-Smith

Review:

Harry potter and the half blood prince

Many of you may know about the famous Harry Potter books and movies. The 6th movie Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince just came out on july 15 2009. I saw it on the day it came out. Heres my thoughts about the movie :)

I personally am a harry potter fan so as soon as I herd about the 6th movie coming out I was so exited! especially to know the fact that it was coming out a day after my B day. I have waited a long time for the movie to come out. Actually i've ben waiting pretty much sense i saw the 5th movie. I think that the movie had a good story to begin with. I could kind of see were it was going. Out of all of the harry potter movies, this one definitely had some of the most humorous moments, while others were vary sad.

Although I definitely enjoyed the movie I think that it ended way to abruptly. What i've noticed about all of the other movies is the movie starts out kind of mellow, then it get exiting and adventurous in the middle, then there is an ending scene were everything pulls together. I noticed inn the 6th movie that it started out kind of slow, then it got kind of interesting, then as soon as the movie started getting really good ... it ended. The story line seemed a little different then most of the other movies. I liked the movie but i was a little disappointed at the end. I felt like they just cut the story off. I haven't red the book yet so I'm not sure how to compare it, but over all i think it was a good movie.

The Eiffel Tower by Kindness Nwakudu

\

The Eiffel Tower is an amazing piece of art, named after its designer Gustave Eiffel. It is the tallest building in Paris, reaching over 1,063 feet. The Eiffel Tower is an iron built tower, constructed from 1887 to 1889. The Eiffel is beautiful and looked upon as a masterpiece. Today, it is used for observation and radio broadcasting. When the Eiffel tower was built, many people were shocked by its odd shape. Some people thought it was not artistic others thought that it would be a danger to the people. 300 people signed a petition stating that the Eiffel Tower was a danger to art and artists. But Gustave knew about wind forces so the awkward shape would help the Eiffel Tower to stand. The Eiffel Tower is on the street called Champ de Mars. It is a great piece of work that, many people go to see.

The Eiffel Tower has two restaurants: Altitude 95 is on the first floor. Jules Veme is on the second floor, it is an expensive restaurant. It took 300 steel workers and 2 years to construct this beauty. They use 15,00 pieces of iron and 40 tons of paint. The Eiffel Tower was built for the World Exhibition which was being held for the French Revolution in 1789. People visit the Eiffel Tower all the time. About 6-8 million people visit the tower each year. The Eiffel Tower would be a nice place for a vacation/ travel. There is a lot of food and fun in Paris. The Eiffel Tower is a great sight to see for all ages. I would recommend going to this tower for fun. It is a beautiful work and there are a lot of things to in Paris. The Eiffel Tower is an amazing masterpiece and to know the history behind it is interesting.

Tim Lincecum: Baseball's Best Pitcher by Peter Kenton

Tim Lincecum: Baseball's Best Pitcher

How good is Tim Lincecum? He is the best pitcher in the national league, if not the best pitcher in baseball. When he is pitching well, which is most of his starts, he has a way of making hitters look silly, like no other pitcher in baseball. The first pitch of the at bat might be a hanging curveball or a 95 mph fastball. His best pitch however, is his changeup. It appears out of his hand to be the same thing as a fastball, but as it approaches the plate, it takes a huge tip, making most batters look very silly when they swing and miss, at it leaves most of them off balance on their front foot.
Many ask, 'How does someone who is 5'10” 170 lbs, make it in the majors as a pitcher.' There aren't many of them. So how can Tim Lincecum throw a 95 mph heater? The answer, his mechanics. He has a stride that is almost seven feet in length, the same distance of Sandy Koufax's stride. There is no other pitcher in the majors who is his size, let alone a starter. So does size matter in pitching? The answer, not really, depending on your mechanics.
Even with this information, what makes Tim Lincecum the games best pitcher? Many sports analysts, such as myself think his size confuses the batter; hitters don't expect someone his size to be able to throw 95 mph gas. Another reason why, is his delivery: he hides the ball for so long but his delivery is very fast, around 1.2 seconds. This unorthodox delivery, and his size baffle most batters. He also has a way of combining pitches like no other pitcher I have ever seen, and his changeup, is the icing on the cake. When he throws his changeup, his delivery is the same as his fastball, but as the ball approaches the plate, it takes a dramatic downturn often leaving batters on their front foot, unable to hit the ball. If a batter does manage to lay off this pitch somehow, as it is mostly thrown with two strikes, the batter will likely get a hit, unfortunately for the batter, this happens very rarely because hitters have to protect with two strikes.
Many people this year think that Dan Haren of the Arizona Diamondbacks is the best pitcher in Baseball. If you look at his ERA (earned run average) this statement is true.
However, if you asked an honest spectator who is more fun to watch, they woProxy-Connection: keep-alive
Cache-Control: max-age=0

d most likely say Lincecum because of the way that Lincecum dominates everybody, and his mechanics. Haren does not have the kind of stuff that Lincecum has. Dan Haren is more of a power pitcher, and when facing guys such as Ryan Howard, Pablo Sandoval, and Albert Pujols, power pitching does not work. However, Dan Haren has been able to incorporate a curveball in his line of pitches in the past few years. Dan Haren is certainly the runner up to Lincecum in the N.L., but he is just not on the same level.
Another pitcher that has created controversy is Zack Greinke of the Kansas City Royals. He started out this year 8-1 with a .89 ERA. However lately he has not been the same pitcher. In the past few months, his ERA has risen almost three points and his record has dropped to 10-5 with a 3.01 ERA, hardly the pitcher he was at the beginning of the year. Despite making the AL All Star team, he is not at the same level as Lincecum. He does not have the same dominating stuff that Lincecum has. He also is the ideal size for a pitcher; 6'3” 220 lbs.
The obvious size advantage of all of these pitchers gives them a huge advantage, however, they don't seem to be able to use their size to their advantage. If Dan Haren took a step the size of Lincecum's, he could throw the ball nearly 110 mph. However, they have not worked on a bigger stride, or a deceptive delivery, which is what makes Tim Lincecum the great pitcher that he is. Tim Lincecum will only get better as the years go by, as he learns the weaknesses of different batters. People should watch Lincecum while they can, because a pitcher of his status doesn't come along very often.

Do you love chocolate cake? Then you should know that there are different kinds of chocolate cake. For example the black forest cake, and the devils food cake are some chocolate cakes. These delicious cakes are easy to bake. And it is said that dark chocolate is good for you. Chocolate cake is one of the most popular desserts in America. This stuff is the best.

Chocolate cake is easy to bake. And you can buy chocolate cake at your local grocery store or bakery. And the cake is already made just for you. It's the best. So buy some cake, and take a break. Eat a cake right now. And just relax.

Truffles by Peter Kenton

Many people think of a truffle as a little chocolate candy thing. Many people don't even know that a truffle is also an edible fungus. These Fungi are extremely hard to come by, and are in many countries such as Italy considered a rare delicacy.

What is a truffle?

A truffle is an oddly shaped fungi that looks like little potatoes. Some truffles are black and some are a tanish color. Truffles cost in excess of 40$ per ounce and possibly close to 500$ for a whole mushroom. This is why only the very rich, or the very lucky can afford. The reason for their high cost is the difficulties of the growing process. Truffles have to be grown in soil that has a high concentration of fertilizer (poo). Also, truffles are very delicate plants. If a one acre field is planted, maybe 20% of the mushrooms planted will be eaten, and only 10% will make it to the market without having died in the process. Another reason why truffles so hard to grow is because of the climate they require. They require a very hot climate to grow in. Any cold weather could prove fatal for the mushrooms, which is why Italy is the ideal place to grow truffles and is also why 90% of all truffles sold in the world are grown in Italy.

Many people such as myself, like the bitterness of truffles, but some find truffles gross. Probably why they are so rare, is because only a certain amount of people even like truffles, and a very small percentage of those people can even afford a truffle. Many people would say, 'Who would spend 40$ on a tiny bite of food that you might not even like.' If you buy a truffle and end up not liking it, you might have felt you just threw away 40$. But for some trying a truffle whether they end up liking it or not, feel is a great privilege to be able to eat such a rare food.

Dance!!!!!!!!! by Devyn Gaines

Dance can be expressed in many ways such as Hip Hop Dance, Turf, Modern, African Dance, also there is Belly Dancing, and MANY more.. With all of these dances some people are so interested in dance they form groups...Some groups in the bay area area Funk Beyond Control ( FBC ), Future Shock Oakland, Imani's Dream, New Style Motherlode, ect. Although there are a lot of groups in The Bay Area that do the most logical of dancing Hip Hop there are many groups who are  out of state AND out of this continent who do the same, such as. FORMALity, Philippine All-Stars, X-Treme, etc. Some dancer prefer not to dance with a group some dancers just perform by there selfs. Some people battle mostly turfers battle in my opinion.

Enough with hip hop and turf, now it's about modern... Modern dance is basically another way of saying ballet or jazz. Most people think that Ballet is just boring and full of NOTHING but really if you can fuse ballet and hip hop, there's the excitement you need.

Green Corn Ice Cream

Have you wondered what green corn ice cream taste like? well, i've heard it taste like a cake, but with a very slight taste of corn in it. It is really really delicious. I thought this ice cream would be the color green, but it's just a creamy yellowish color, like vanilla ice cream. I'm not sure where exactly to find green corn ice cream, but my teacher Ms. Kamara tried it in Salvador, Bahia which is in brazil. Too bad it's not in America.

Mochi Ice Cream

Have you ever tried mochi ice cream? All I can say is that it is bomb! Mochi ice cream is a delicious japanese confection made from mochi (pulverized sticky rice) with an ice cream filling. It is the size of a golfball, shape and weight: 45g mass and 45mm diameter. Mikawaya was the first to manufacture mochi ice cream in United States. I can get these delicious desserts in many Chinese or Korean supermarkets.

Did you know that recycling and composting diverted nearly 70 million tons of material away from landfills in 2000? Thats twice as much as we reduced in 1990. Last but not least, recycling saves money and help create jobs for people. Recycling created 1.1 million U.S. jobs, $236 billion in gross annual sales and $37 billion in annual payrolls. It helps creates four jobs for every one job created in the waste management and disposal industries. Cheese! by Peter Kenton

How many different kinds of cheeses are there in the world? The answer will probably never be known because every country except Antarctica and Turkmenistan makes a cheese. Some countries make more cheeses than others. Countries such as France, Denmark, Italy, England, and the USA all make at least 50 different kinds of cheeses.

France by far makes the most cheese of any country in the world. France makes over 150 varieties of cheese that are available on the market. France has many famous cheeses including Brie, Bleu, and Truffe. Many of the cheeses that are made in France are made from goat's milk, such as goat cheese. It is no surprise that France makes the most variety of cheeses considering how famous France is for its great food. However some of these cheeses can be harmful if eaten in large quantities, largely because of the mold content in the cheese, and as a result, many of these cheeses have been banned from sale.

Denmark. Famous in so many ways, including the cheese they produce. Denmark is certainly the most famous producer of cheese in the world, largely because of the very unique tastes of their cheeses. Many of these cheeses include Havarti, Cream Havarti, and Blue-Cream cheese. Denmark is the producer of more than 50 varieties of cheeses. Havarti cheese is by far the most famous cheese from Denmark. It famed for its sweet and salty taste, and creamy texture.
Most people don't think of England as being famous for their food, most likely because they boil everything. However, they are famous for their great cheeses. Many of these cheeses include Cheddar, Basket cheese, Bath cheese, Cornish Pepper cheese, and Goat cheese. Cheddar is probably the most widely consumed cheese in the world, largely because of its availability and because of its saltiness. Over the years, Basket cheese has won many awards at the international cheese competition. It has won awards for its taste, texture, color and how it was made. It is aged 4 years in a woven basket, which some say makes it taste like wood.
Many people don't think of the United States as a large producer of cheese. Many of these cheeses include Swiss cheese, Humboldt cheese, American cheese, and Texas Goat cheese. American cheese is the only famous cheese from America and foProxy-Connection: keep-alive
Cache-Control: max-age=0

one reason: it's completely processed, exactly what Americans are famous for. However, American cheese is quite popular in America probably because it is very cheap, and it tastes good. Americans still have yet to master the art of making a really good cheese.
Italy, the most amazing country on earth. They make everything good, including their cheese. Many of these famous cheeses include Asiago, Mozzarella, Gorgonzola, Parmesan, and many many more. Parmesan cheese is probably the most famous cheese from Italy because of its versatility. It is eaten Caesar Salad, many kinds of Pasta, and even fish. It is famed for its salty taste and hard texture. Mozzarella cheese comes in many varieties. It comes in a dehydrated form where it is often used on Pizzas. There is also a fresh version which sits in water, which is often used on salads and specialty pasta dishes.
So how many different kinds of cheeses are there in the world. Researchers have estimated that there are at least 8,000 varieties of cheeses in the world, but there are only about 10 different kinds of milks used. Cheese makers are able to make many of these varieties by adding different flavors, but most importantly, the aging process is what the density, and the flavor depends on. Cheese for many is a necessity for making foods such as salads, pastas and sandwiches. However, many cheeses in the world are very rare and are considered a delicacy.

And you wonder why americans aren't famous for their cheese....

The Evolution of The Philly Cheese Steak by Kris

The Philly Cheese Steak is the God of all sandwiches in my mind. As you would probably think the sandwich was invented in the city of “Brotherly Love”, Philadelphia. Pat's King of Steaks is often credited with inventing it. Its was first served as chopped beef with melted cheese whiz on a hoagie, but now there are billions of variations to making a cheese steak. The King of Steaks says the best way to serve a cheese steak is to put cheese whiz & onions on the beef and serve it
on a hoagie. His rival though, across the street, says otherwise, Geno's says you gotta serve it with American cheese, along with fried onions, green peppers, and mushrooms on the steak.

If you're asking me how I like it, its totally different from both of them. I like it with mozzarella cheese, fried onions & raw whole sliced tomatoes on chopped steak with a french bread(yummy!!). Some other variations are cheese steaks served with chicken, buffalo wing sauce, and blue cheese. Its often called the “chicken cheese steak”. What started as a sandwich made by mistake has grown into a national phenomenon being served in little “hole in the walls” and all the way up to the classiest restaurants in the U.S.. So now you know about America's favorite sandwich, and if you ever happen to be in the city of “Brotherly Love” just stop by and you can proudly say I went to where the first Philly Cheese Steak was made!

LEBRON GOT POSTERIZED! by Leon Yu

It occurred on July 8, 2009 when Lebron James got dunked on by the great Jordan Crawford. It happened at Lebron James Skills Academy and was being sponsored by Nike. It was an extreme 2-hand flush that knocked everyone out of their seats. Everyone was amazed. Jordan Crawford is 6.4' tall and weighs 190lbs. He plays basketball for the Xavier University and his positions are shotting guard and point guard. No actual evidence has proven that it happened because the Nike director confiscated the the videos of it happening. So we can't know for a fact that it happened with no evidence but there are articles about it.

Hip Hop vs. R&B by Leon Yu

      Hip Hop vs. R&B

A lot of people get mixed up with the 2 music genres, Hip Hop and R&B. They have similarities and differences. I am here to help clarify that for you and everyone else. Hip Hop is a musical genre just like R&B is but they are different in ways. Hip Hop typically consist of a rhythmic vocal style called rap which is accompanied with backing beats. R&B stands for Rhythm and Blues and is now defined as soul and funk-influenced pop music. African Americans created both Hip Hop and R&B. Hip Hop started around the 1970s in Bronx, New York. R&B started around the late 1940s and early 1950s. Its origin started somewhere in the United States.  Hip Hop is a culture of rap, DJ-ing. B-Boying, and Graffiti. While R&B is a style of singing instead of rapping. Some examples of Hip Hop artists are Jay-Z, Kanye West, Nas, Run-DMC, and Fabulous. Some examples of R&B artists are Mariah Carey, Maxwell, Paula Abdul, Usher, and Micheal Jackson. Mainly you can always tell the differences between Hip Hop and R&B by knowing that Hip Hop contains rap in it and R&B is singing instead of rap.

Kobe vs. Lebron by Isa Bey

Kobe vs. Lebron

In the extraordinary world of professional basketball, everyone is great, yet some our far greProxy-Connection: keep-alive Cache-Control: max-age=0 er than others. And in this dog eat dog free market capitalistic society, there is always the question 'who is the best basketball player of our day.' Vitamin water even had a great debate over who the best player of our day was, and the two that were given the most attention were Lebron James, number 23 on the Cleveland Cavaliers, and Kobe Bryant, number 24 on the Los Angeles Lakers. These are both amazing players, but only one can be crowned the best.

Representing the east-side, standing six-feet eight inches tall, 250 pounds and drafted from St. Vincent-St. Mary High School, we have 'the chosen one' Lebron James. And representing Los Angeles, not necessarily the West, standing six-feet six inches tall, weighing in at 205 pounds, we have a veteran of the game, the Black Mamba Kobe Byrant. The Lebron against Kobe match%2Proxy-Connection: keep-alive Cache-Control: max-age=0 p is like the Magic Johnson versus Larry Bird  of the twenty-first century.

Kobe Bryant, veteran of modern day basketball, has spent thirteen unforgettable years in the NBA. In the late night 90's the Kobe-O'Neal duo was a seemly unstoppable force on the Los Angeles Lakers. However the Young Gun, Lebron James, led a team of Underdogs to the playoffs, all while carrying every players weight on his shoulder. In a survey drafted by ESPN four out of seven experts said Lebron will finish his career with more rings than Kobe and that he is a better player. Moreover seven out of the seven judges said that Lebron would finish with more MVP titles than Kobe. But things are not all bad for Bryant, six of the seven  judges said Kobe was the heir to Michael Jordan, and five of the six experts voted that Kobe would beat Lebron in a one on one. But who is the better basketball player all around? I ll leave that up to the reader?

How Rock & Rap Have Influenced Their Listeners by Christina Bates and Peter Kenton

Why has Rap and Hip-Hop become such a popular style of music? The answer is simple. No one wants to be left out of the latest fad. But this latest fad has many problems; the lyrics in many cases are very inappropriate for young listeners. In many cases, people will copy what a rap song says to do.

Rock music has almost become a mythical genre with many kids who say, “Rock is dumb, it doesn't have good lyrics.” However, the saddest part is that many people don't know where rap came from. If you told a kid you should be thankful to the Beatles for giving their favorite artists their inspiration, they would probably say “I don't care, and who the hell are the Beatles?”

A good percentage of Rap songs are either talking about getting Laid, getting money, strippers
and other profound things. The music industry is now mostly interested in writing songs about such topics. This also influences young listeners to do things that even young adults shouldn't be doing. In a lot of songs now a days rappers talk about love and sex, in a very literal way to
express their heated feelings. The songs are straight forward and say exactly what they mean. If writers wrote things in a more reserved kind of way, I think it would be more appropriate for us younger listeners. When we hear our supposed “Role Models” say things like “shawty wanna lick me like a lollipop” it makes them think that, “oh well if he or she said it, we can say it.”

Then in other situations some kids go out and do what they are hearing in these provocative
songs. Many of these subjects would be appropriate in rock songs but in Rap; forget it. The word
choice in some cases could possibly gross out the wrong listener. Perhaps the style of rap is to tell the listener immediately what they are about to listen to. Rock song topics include Love, sex, committing suicide, telling a story about something. If you listen to a rap song that is about having sex, you might have to listen to the song several times to figure out what the song is about. Good rockers have a wonderful way of combining words and music, something that the average rapper has only heard of occasionally. Rock songs are generally supposed to written like a story, a poem, to give the listener a challenge to figure out what the song is about. In my prospective I don't like the way women are being portrayed in a lot of rap songs. I know it also happens to men but a good percentage of the time its towards women and it's degrading. If you agree with this statement or disagree please go down to the bottom of this post and vote.

Reviews for Sushi House in Alameda

Me no likey.

Went Saturday, gross food. I've had great great and this was gross gross. People come here like its some great place but its really more likely to be the location of the actual restaurant.

Service isn't great, but isn't terrible. the food SUCKED. The only way I could get it down and wash the crap-taste out of my mouth was by downing as much of the beer and sake as possible right afterward. My GOD. Put a better restaurant there, PLEASE.

I was trying to find a good word to describe how I feel about Sushi House. After reading some reviews Troy M. described it perfectly: neutral. I feel neutral about Sushi House. It's not great, but it's not terrible. It's not worth over an hour wait, but I wouldn't mind waiting 30 minutes.

There is always a crowd. Like, always. I've come for dinner on a weekend, dinner during the week, lunch on the weekdays and I've always had to wait. I'm not sure what it is about people and this place, but Sushi House seems pretty recession proof.

We get:
- House salad ($2.00)
- Lion King Roll ($10.95) - California Roll topped with baked salmon and tobiko
- Bay Scallop Roll ($10.95) - California Roll topped with baked scallop and tobiko
- Spicy Scallop Roll ($4.50)
- Shiro Maguro Roll ($3.95) - White Tuna with green onions and garlic
- Crazy Monkey Roll ($6.95) - Yellow Tail, Salmon, Eel, Tobiko & cucumber

If you like specialty rolls, Sushi House is great. They have a lot of specialty rolls and they're all decently priced. The Lion King Roll and Bay Scallop Roll are two the most popular specialty rolls here. Both are pretty good. I really like the Lion King Roll. It's a lot, but it's tasty if you like baked rolls. The Shiro Maguro Roll is very garlicky, but I love garlic so it's okay. Everything else here is eh. The fish never seems like it's of the best quality. There is usually lots of rice and little fish in the simple maki rolls. I do like the house salad dressing. It's kind of sweet, kind of tangy, very creamy and just tasty. The leafy greens, however, are more often times then not wilted.

Service is usually always less than stellar, but it has yet to be terrible. Sitting at the sushi bar seems to have its benefits on a busy night because we got our sushi really fast.

Overall it's okay. There is most definitely better in the East Bay. Sushi House used to be my favorite sushi spot in the Bay Area. However, I have not visited it since 2008. During my last visit, I went for lunch. The service was pathetic, and the fish did not seem fresh.
Prior to my unfortunate visit, I used to order the Island roll, Lambada roll, and A's roll. This place gets really crowded, and during those times, the sushi is mediocre. So its really hit or miss for me.

Had dinner there on Tuesday and it was the worst dinner. We've had in quite awhile.
We were not greeted at the sushi counter even when no other customers around us and six or seven sushi men watched us being seated. Service was non-responsive, inattentive and unpleasant; but the worst part came when I saw my sashimi combo ; the Hamachi sashimi was badly discolored and the Maguro was some very old slices which I could not pick up with my chopsticks 'cause they were breaking into small pieces.
After over $60 some dollars and half untouched meal, I
was even more amazed and insulted by the sushi chef's nonchalant attitude when I asked him about the quality of the raw fish- - "no one complain about bad pieces, only you" was his combat answer to my question!!!!
I'm from Hawaii, and I travel between Japan and CA more than once a month, trust me when I say that half of the sashimi served to me at Sushi House that night would've considered not edible in either standard.

One day my friends and I went to Sushi House in Alameda for a birthday party. When we arrived, it seemed a little crowded but decent. We were 4th on the list and we waited. We didn't wait that long so that was good. The waitress gave us the menus and we ordered the food. But the waitress had a little attitude but it was fine. The sushi was a little costly but we managed. We made a mistake in our order we asked to correct it, It took a very long time. Service was ok but it takes to long and they happen to forget you. This is a great restaurant besides the poor service and impatient waiters. I would recommend you to come here as often as you like, only if enjoy to wait for good food.
